Performs, verifies and reports all laboratory tests with high degree of accuracy, and within established turnaround time expectations. Performs and evaluates quality controls and instrument function checks. Recognizes and solves problems in pre-analytic through post-analytic testing, instrumentation or other laboratory related situations.
MT (ASCP), MLS(ASCP), CLS (NCA), Canadian Medical Laboratory Technologist certification by CSLT/CLMLS or
Certification as a medical technologist in a single laboratory discipline by either ASCP or NCA (e.g., Chemistry: C(ASCP) or CLS-C(NCA)). Individuals with single discipline certification are not eligible for generalist MT positions or any MT positions outside that discipline.
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college/university including courses in biological science, chemistry and mathematics or
post-secondary diploma (Canadian applicants) and:
Successful completion of an accredited Medical Technologist program; or
Three to five years acceptable clinical lab experience under the supervision of a Pathologist, in lieu of accredited program.
Proficiency with computers.
Two to three year clinical laboratory experience.
