KEY REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES:
Performs a variety of general custodial/janitorial tasks such as dusting, waxing, polishing, and window washing.

Cleans offices, restrooms, lavatories and work areas.

Cleans grounds, collects and disposes of refuse.

Performs tasks around facility, administrative offices and tour route areas.

Operates riding buffers/scrubbers, sweepers and forklifts.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out elements and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position.

Job Elements:
1. Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. (Screenout)
2. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc.
3. Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment (vehicles).
4. Work practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order).

Driver’s License/History: Operation of a Government vehicle required; therefore, you must possess a valid state driver’s license. A driving history check is required.

Working Conditions: Incumbent works mostly inside and is frequently exposed to drafts, noise, dust, dirt, and working around water. Incumbent is exposed to the possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts, scrapes, and chemicals. Work involves continually standing, bending, stooping and reaching. Tasks typically involve frequent lifting and carrying light to medium weight objects of 10 to 30 pounds; and occasionally lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects weighing up to 45 pounds.

Pre-employment Physical: If selected, you are required to obtain and successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician certifying to your ability to perform the duties of the position.
