Experience using Delta V or RS software and hardware systems or similar software systems within a control process.

The Electronic Control Technician (ECT) is primarily responsible for installing, calibrating, troubleshooting and maintaining control instrumentation systems for beet and sugar processing systems.
The Technician will install, set up, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain a wide variety of instrumentation and control throughout the process. The Technician will install control networks and program the Delta V and RS III distributive control software including other associated hardware. Accordingly, the Technician will optimize the performance of control loops to ensure the efficient operation of the various processing systems, and will work closely with operations gaining a detailed understanding of operating parameters ensuring that maintenance interventions are both appropriate and effective.
The Technician is required to understand equipment and system operating principles and fundamentals, have the ability to think in abstract terms, solve complex problems and apply troubleshooting skills.
The primary accountabilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Describe, in detail, process control and instrumentation operating concepts and fundamentals Interpret and apply technical codes.
Interpret and revise instrumentation drawings including ladder logic schematics, loop diagrams, P&IDs, and process flow diagram.
Interpret and revise hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
Analyze and troubleshoot instrumentation, networks, and low voltage wiring using voltage analyzers, amprobes, oscilloscopes, calibrators, digital multimeter and the HART analyzer.
Acquire and maintain Radiation Safety Training for facility nuclear instrumentation.
Install bearings, seals, and gaskets consistent with process and control instrumentation maintenance requirements.
Install instrumentation tubing, valves, and pumps.
Maintain and troubleshoot process system controls and instrumentation including combustion systems and the Anamet systems.
Perform basic electrical tasks including cable pulling, raceway installation, and low voltage wire installation (including termination).
Install, maintain, and repair AC/DC equipment.
Optimize process control loops.
Install, set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate instrumentation and controls in hazardous environments.
Install, set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate flow meters, transmitters, recorders, analyzers, positioners, indicators, controllers, control valves, and relays employing a wide variety of operating concepts.
Maintain and calibrate weighing systems.
Install analog and digital Networks including network cabling.
Install, program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers.
Troubleshoot and maintain Delta V and RS III software and hardware systems.
Troubleshoot all process system instrumentation and controls.
Qualified applicants must possess a two-year degree in electronics, industrial technology, or equivalent, AND have a minimum of three years experience in electronics and process controls . Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude, be able to read and write in English with the ability to comprehend and interpret technical literature, and be computer literate with strong keyboarding skills. Must be a team player who demonstrates initiative and a professional work ethic.
