This individual is responsible for the development and maintenance of merchandise plans and Open-To-Buys down to class group/brand level. This individual is responsible to ensure the merchandise plan fits the expected goals ( sales, margin and inventory) for the assigned categories and supports the overall objectives of the company. This individual is responsible for planning by location type and/or channels for the elements of sales, margin and inventory that balances to the product plans by month. This individual is accountable for a frequent review of the assigned category management teams plans to make recommended adjustments and to aid in decision making when necessary. This individual is accountable for analyzing margin effects including detailed commodity effect reviews in order to maintain gross margin targets by recommending changes as required. This individual is accountable for managing the asset ( including special order) and memo open-to-buy for all assigned categories to ensure business maximization and the achievement of overall company goals. This individual is responsible for educating and training any new users to Enterprise Performance Analysis within their assigned category management teams.
The desired qualifications are excellent technical skills ( JDA planning software preferred, MS Excel, Word, Data Warehouse) analytical capabilities, understanding logic of gross margin and open-to-buy performances, Gross Margin effects on Inventory investment, strong communication skills with all levels of management, and a minimum of a Bachelors degree, preferrably in Business or an analytical related field. 3-5+ years of Retail/Planning or industry related experience preferred.
