DESCRIPTION
The International Exposition Center in Cleveland, Ohio is seeking a highly skilled individual with strong knowledge, skills and ability in the operation, inspection, monitoring, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pumps, motors, boilers, equipment and fixtures related to the plumbing and HVAC systems.
Union position.
DUTIES
Performs plumbing maintenance and repair to all Center plumbing and atmospheric control systems including sprinkler systems, and fountains
Operates and maintains atmospheric control devices and equipment including air conditioning units, automatic pump systems, air handlers, boilers, and other related equipment
Inspects and monitors internal systems and physical plant equipment as required
Assists external contractors in the maintenance and repair of Center plumbing fixtures and atmospheric control system
Assists vendors and service contractors in event set-ups and tear-downs in accordance with Center regulations
Performs maintenance and repair to the Center
Performs installation of new equipment and renovations to the Center
Maintains plumbing equipment and supplies. Ensures that needed parts and supplies are on-hand or notifies supervisor that supplies need to be ordered
May supervise the work of other Center maintenance staff
Assist other departments and perform any other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated abilities in the field of HVAC in a large facility setting including atmospheric control systems, automatic pump systems, sprinkler systems, air handlers, boilers, fountains and other related equipment.
Demonstrated plumbing expertise and knowledge in a large facility setting
Ability to read /understand floor plans, blueprints and sketches, and follow written/verbal instructions
Ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to work well with the public
Able to work flexible hours
Ability to operate a forklift safely and effectively
Ability to work in high places and to go from indoor to outdoor work as required for the task
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, unassisted
Knowledge of general maintenance practices and safe working practices
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Five years experience as an industrial/commercial plumber or HVAC technician with at least four (4) years experience in a large commercial setting
High School diploma, GED, or passing score on assessment for relevant math, reading, and writing ability.
Must maintain certifications as required
Forklift experience/license required
