Primary responsibilities will be to develop, create, and monitor the necessary Salesforce.com Objects and Tools to support the Hunter Douglas CRM Strategy. This position is responsible for working with analysts, developers, and business users to translate functional specifications into comprehensive designs and solutions as well as coordinating activities across Salesforce.com systems, acting as a mentor and advisor to other developers and analysts, and providing ongoing customer support of the solutions. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work closely with the Salesforce.com and extended IT team. As a key member of a small team, will have the opportunity to learn many aspects of the business as well as other technologies, and to help influence CRM direction and strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with business and functional analysts converting business requirements, processes, and design into comprehensive, robust, efficient, and stable designs and solutions.
Initiates communication as necessary to ensure clear understanding of progress, issues, risks, status, etc.
Interacts with other team members and has a thorough understanding of the potential impacts of proposed solutions on other areas of the systems and/or project.
Provides estimates of work required to implement solutions.
Interprets business and reporting requirements and design and can convert them into technical design (including comprehensive technical design documentation).
Designs the data model, user interface, business logic, and security for custom applications.
Builds applications using the point-and-click capabilities of the platform, using Apex and VisualForce.
Sets permission and data access in standard and custom apps.
Designs reports, dashboards, and portals.
Builds complex interactive reports and dashboards.
Develops and executes unit testing for all developed objects, including testing documentation and validation, and assists in system test, performance test, and other user tests as needed.
Manages the Development Lifecycle, including deploying custom code and configuration to production and the installation and monitoring of Installed Packages.
Provides ongoing support of the existing Salesforce.com system - resolves coding, configuration, security, performance, and data issues in a timely fashion. Uses Force.com platform for debugging and monitoring automated business processes.
Manages the Salesforce.com environments (Refreshes, Code Migrations, System Monitoring, Usage, etc.).
Contributes to enhancing IT tools, methods, and approaches.
Maintains and develops knowledge of current and emerging technologies. Identifies new and emerging solutions, assesses their relevance and potential value to the organization, and contributes to briefings of staff and business management.
Assists in the development of standards, strategies, and procedures to improve software development lifecycle process, and helps ensure that the team adheres to these standards.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or business-related major is a plus
Salesforce.com Advanced Developer Certification
Minimum of 5+ years experience with Salesforce.com development
Experience with integration with SAP systems is a plus
Experience with the SAP Process Integrator (PI) tool is a plus
Strong analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills are required, as well as communication and interpersonal skills
Works well with business and functional analysts to understand and design accurate and stable technical solutions, and acts as an internal consultant to ensure technically sound decisions are made
Ability to quickly establish credibility and foster collaborative relationships throughout the business is necessary
Ability to determine which Force.com feature to use to solve a business requirement and/or describe how to apply the solution
Able to translate and document new requirements and change requests into Salesforce.com development and configuration tasks
Experience designing, developing, and configuring within Salesforce.com using the Force.com platform. Expertise should include:
- APEX Code (Classes and Triggers)
- Force.com Applications
- Creation and management of Formulas, Validation Rules, and Workflow Rules
- Use of Style Sheets
- PDF generation
- API-based tools
- Import wizards and Data Loader
- Creation, Management, and Deployment of Packages
