Position Description
Ensures playbook communications maximize the ability to execute
easily and quickly by reviewing communications from a field and
Walmart U.S. associate perspective; adjusting style, tone and level of detail appropriate to audience and occasion; ensuring complex
ideas are written clearly and supported by graphics, pictures videos and other aids; reviewing communications for professionalism (for
example, grammatically correct, spelling, branding)and organization; and reviewing technology solutions and
communication channels to recommend the most effective method of delivery.
Develops communications tailored to assigned business units by
initiating monthly meetings with assigned business units;
presenting status updates on communication processes,
communication requests and communications sent; developing an
understanding of key business strategies and initiatives; visiting stores with their customers to ensure communications are meeting
field expectations; learning aspects of overall Walmart business;and seeking out and maintaining a mentor in key business areas. Creates and delivers field or Walmart U.S. communication and content that supports initiatives and events by partnering with key leadership and strategic business units for assigned departments; coordinating planning across work units; managing the communication calendar and competing priorities for assigned areas; overseeing the communication request process for assigned departments; creating, reviewing and editing
communication briefs for field or Walmart U.S. communications;
and obtaining approval and disapprovals of communication briefs for field or Walmart U.S. communications.
Serves as a communication resource by setting up and leading
cross functional communication teams and projects; identifying
when a communication plan requires cross functional subject
matter expertise; creating and providing key leaders with status
updates; and serving as a consultant for internal associates who need guidance on writing or executing effective communications. Ensures business needs are being met through communication processes and plans by managing a feedback process for all Walmart U.S. communications to ensure they are manageable and effective; evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans,
programs and initiatives; consulting with business partners and other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and costeffectiveness;
recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and
adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in communications and applies
this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and
aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building
commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders;
identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs. eg. Word, Excel,
Communication competency….must be able to develop, review and
edit communications for professionalism (for example,
grammatically correct, spelling, branding)
Ability to provide excellent customer service at all times
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Proven ability to plan, organize, and lead large projects
2 or more years of experience creating and implementing effective business communication plans. Knowledge of Walmart or store operations experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field
Prior experience in a communication field
