The Senior Statistical Programmer Analyst will help to design and develop sophisticated applications using advanced data analysis techniques. The qualified candidate will have experience in the financial markets and securities. This is an opportunity to work with large datasets of both structured and unstructured data. The right person will be creative in applying unique approaches to complex non-traditional large scale analytical reporting.
Other responsibilities for this position:
Client interaction including daily contact across multiple teams and personnel including executive management
Notifies PM of critical risks and issues helping to resolve them in a timely manner
Serve as an analyst working with the government to deign sophisticated models, determine methodologies, organize data collection, create programs, prepare reports and summarize and present studies
Provide senior level technical expertise for the design and development of comprehensive, complicated financial data applications, surveys, reviews and research
Supports program lifecycle of the projects (customer interaction, technical delivery, status reporting and analytical solutions)
Mentors other team members to understand and accomplish goals, meet target schedules and milestones, resolve and mitigate issues, establish metrics for measuring key performance criteria
Work with large volumes of financial data from different instruments and sources for back-testing and validation of models, algorithms, and strategies
Reviews deliverables prepared by task team
Meets with team members and customers to review project scope and progress
Master degree in Econometrics, Finance or related technical fields such as Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, MBA or MFE.
7+ years of SAS programming experience
7+ years of experience in data analysis including database design, statistical data analysis and research analysis
Experience with a dvanced analytic techniques such as modern econometric methods, multivariate statistical analysis, clustering and segmentation, experimental design, optimization and text analytics .
Experience with other development tools and programming such as:
EXCEL, STATA, MATLAB, Mathematica, Perl, Oracle 11g, MS ACCESS, R, S-PLUS, Python or SQL
Experience in the following Operating System Environments:
MS Windows, Linux, and Unix
Experience in managing and integrating large datasets using a variety of software
Experience with a mix of analytic and textual processing tools
Experience with several relational database technologies including Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server
1+ year of operational/regulatory financial analysis experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively to a wide-range of stakeholders
