Accountable to perform a variety of scretarial support services, particularly transcription of medical records, processing Pathology orders and billing charges, compilation of laboratory reports/procedures and general correspondence.
HS Diploma, GED or equivalent knowledge
Completion of a Medical Terminology Course
Related training/experience (preferably within the past five years)
Medical Terminology, Transcription Experience or recent training in Transcription
Proficient Keyboard Skills measured at 40 wpm
Knowledge of basic Office Equipment such as copier, fax machine, etc.
Proficiency in the use of Excel Spreadsheets, Powerpoint, and various software programs
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
Comprehensive language skills with ability to write business communications, summaries and reports, conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style
Preferred Factor: Associate Degree in Secretarial science or level of knowledge equivalent to that normally acquired through completion of an associate degree in secretarial science with a medical concentration. Cetification in Medical Coding
