The Department of Fish and Game has an opening for a Financial Specialist, Senior at our Headquarters in Boise. Duties:
Incumbents use their professional background to develop budget analysis and financial statements, develop and maintain accounting systems, prepare complex financial documents, plan and review financial operations, and handle difficult or sensitive financial matters.
Analyze technical financial problems and provide professional assistance and advice concerning their solutions.
Position requires strong background in analyzing, researching, and maintaining financial data, developing financial documents, resolving system problems and handling day to day accounting issues. Responsibilities:
Responsible for fiscal, budgeting, purchasing, and position allocation for assigned programs.
Responds to day to day operational questions regarding fiscal information.
Projects revenues and expenditures.
Performs financial analysis.
Liaison with other agency staff and administrators, grantor agency staff, and sub-grantees.
Ensures compliance with federal and state policies, laws and regulations. Minimum Qualifications:
Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Experience developing and preparing financial documents.
Experience using a personal computer to develop, analyze, and report on financial data.
Experience analyzing financial activities and recommending management action. Desirable Qualifications:
Experience: researching and analyzing financial documents to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and accounting principles and conducting meeting to discuss financial related issues that have potential to be controversial, adversarial or confidential in nature; developing and maintaining a budget; projecting revenues and expenses.
Some knowledge of the state accounting process (STARS).
Currently hold a Certified Government Financial Management (CGFM) certification. Examination:
