The Omni Providence is currently seeking a Catering Sales Manager
for this 564 room hotel connected to the Rhode Island Convention
Center. The property is located in downtown Providence within walking
distance of many gourmet restaurants and historical attractions.

Essential Functions:
Sell and
service the corporate and social catering markets in an upscale hotel
Work in a
dynamic setting with a diverse team of Sales and Operations
professionals who collaborate to create an exceptional experience for
our clients.
and direct others and be an ace at fostering and maintaining
relations with clients.
Solicitation of direct-selling in the local catering market

catering services
with clients and our operations team prior to events
negotiate, and close contracts for all catered functions.

negotiate and book new and repeat business through efforts (outside
sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc.) while
maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed revenue goals.
Execute a
territorial marketing strategy to capture the maximum amount of
revenue to meet/ exceed sales goals.
Plan, up
sell and detail the meeting/function with the client including: space
requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations, etc.

persuasive presentations, creative proposals, complete contracts, and
prepare banquet event orders, resumes and other internal documents.

clear, concise and timely communication with all Hotel departments,
to ensure a quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.

of space feasibility, maximizing space usage.
of menu planning, and the ability to guide a planner towards meals
most conducive to the size of their group and the space allotted.

Reviews all
group bills for accuracy and communicates any necessary changes to
accounts receivables manager. Billing process not to exceed three
days after group departure. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate and hotel
procedures, products and competition, including their strengths and
weaknesses, to continually improve sales strategies and achieve
goals. Professional and positive communication to both guests and
fellow employees
