TASC is seeking Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Fairmont, WV. In Fairmont, WV, we support NASA’s Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Program, delivering analysis, validation and verification of mission-critical software for important NASA science and human exploration programs.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, and requirements allocation and interface definition studies to evaluate compliance of software specifications with customer requirements.
Performs planning, modeling, validation, engineering, and verification activities. Able to lead small- to medium-size groups in technical task completion.
Analyzes effectiveness/efficiency of NASA program procedures and processes and develops/recommends improvements.
Prepares presentations, reports, research, and other contract deliverables.
Participates in selected programs, events, and meetings involving staff, Government customers, and visitors.
Familiarity with UML, software architecture, service oriented architecture, agile processes, systems engineering, and verification and validation.
Conduct software hazard analysis and risk assessment in conjunction with the development of a system reference model.
Work is performed on-site in Government facilities.
Occasional travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications :
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Minimum of 4 years of experience with NASA or military programs involving space domain topics
Must have minimum of 4 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, OR an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
Strong experience with NASA or military programs involving space, ground, and launch operations/processes (such as propulsion; guidance, navigation, and control; vehicle system management; mission ground operations; flight dynamics; operations; launch operations/processes; software safety; and mission assurance)
Excellent verbal and written English language, good communication skills, and ability to interact well in group meeting/working environments.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance
