Web Operations Automation and Monitoring Analyst
M - F 10am – 6pm ; flexibility required. Willing to work a regular on-call rotation.
Working as a member of the Ticketmaster Web Operations team to help b uild a world class systems automation and monitoring platform, using open source and commercial tools, in order to maintain the highest levels of availability for a 24/7 x 365 serving environment.
Provide support for systems automation and monitoring of Ticketmaster’s online products & services.
Build scalable automation and monitoring solutions to maintain an availability SLA of 99.99%, using a variety of tools , including Splunk search, Perl, Bash, and Python scripting.
Build distributed configuration management tools using Puppet and Git.
Create and maintain clear and up to date operational documentation.
Troubleshoot operational problems with log search and automation systems.
Develop operational support tools to be used by the rest of the web operations team.
Requirements and Experience:
A self starter with strong ability to prioritize tasks, and deliver results in a timely manner, using strong analytical and reasoning skills.
A proven ability to work with complex systems, and build scalable automation and monitoring solutions.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
A strong understanding of web based applications and technology, utilizing the LAMP stack.
Experience with Unix and/or Linux systems administration and troubleshooting (3+ years)
Experience with Apache web server configuration, logging, and troubleshooting (3+ years).
Experience with relational databases: MySql, SQlite, and SQL query language (3+ years).
Strong scripting skills: Perl, Bash (3+ years). Python scripting a plus.
Experience with distributed configuration management and revision control tools: Puppet, Git, Svn (1+ years).
