Post by Jobing - Curriculum K–12 & Professional Development Train Teachers in SPED Programs: Introductory trainings Fundations(train gen ed too), Wilson, SOAR, PCI ReadingImplementation, Assessment, progress monitoring workshops for the aboveReading Fluency training Intermediate & Secondary teachersBRI (Basic Reading Inventory) TrainingPara–professional training to support classroom instructionSupervise teachers through Level 1 Certification – Work with (district tech) to maintain Network PCI programs across schools, adding new students and students who transfer to other schools. Provide 1:1 coaching and support in classrooms – model lessons, observations w/feedback, Lesson planning, progress monitoring etc… Provide support with assessments for progress monitoring – ES, MS, HSIndividual students and class assessments when requiredServe on ETLT, general ed adoption committees, & district grading committeeStay current with literacy research, etc…Students with average IQStudents with intellectual disabilitiesJournals, etc.. CEC, Reading teacher, etc.. Instructional Materials – Responsible for SPED program curriculum instruction materials Order, inventory, and distribute materials New Teacher Induction Program Member of the planning committee for New Teacher Orientation provided prior to 1 st dayCoordinate Beginning Teacher Coach program for SPED (mentors for new teachers)Provide a series of 8 PD seminars throughout the school year for new special education teachersProvide 4 workshops for BTCs working with mentees.Support new teachers, as needed throughout school year (ie.

sub for them so they can observe master teachers in their area of Special Education, help with required program documentation of work with their mentors, etc.) IEP Team Support (As the district’s reading specialist) Help transition students from private placement or help find alternatives to private placementPerform student observations and administer assessments to help IEP team make programming decisionsAttend IEP meetings when neededConduct historical progress reviews and reading evaluationsProvide intervention for data collection/appropriate program placementContinue to build teacher leaders for PCI & SOAR to conduct after school & Early Release trainings throughout school year.
