QC Inspector/Product Improvement Monitor, Columbus OH

RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Performs investigations and analyses of reports and data to determine trends and discover problem areas.
Conducts production analysis studies. Reviews files, documents, and other information to identify technical or managerial deficiencies. Recommends improvements relating to equipment, procedures, and the work environment. Conducts evaluations of base repair capability. Administers the Product Improvement Program. Monitors submittal of technical order changes, AFTO Form 135 requests, and Modification proposals. Assists in the interpretation of maintenance technical publications. Analyzes Quality Control Program summaries, inspections and evaluation reports, and areas that require investigation. Evaluates effectiveness of the oil analysis program (OAP). Conducts work center management evaluation. Briefs/debriefs FCF mission pilots. Provides a high degree of expertise in all QC programs. Participates in the other QC Programs IAW the Quality Control Plan. Provides technical advice and assistance to maintenance personnel and the work force. Through analysis of findings, determines the overall condition of the maintenance effort. Utilizes CAMS and other windows based programs to accomplish assigned duties. May perform training related to the maintenance effort as required. Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times. Coordinates activities with the Lead Inspector. May be selected to perform special certifications including Red X inspections. Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed. Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct. Must be customer oriented and ensure professional coordination with Operations and other base agencies. Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required. Shall perform other duties assigned to include TDY and travel.
Must have a minimum of four years recent aircraft maintenance experience as an aircraft mechanic or above. Must be proficient in the use of CAMS, AQIS, and other computer programs. Appropriate formal technical schools are required for the specified position. Recent QC experience is required. Qualification on advanced
tasks such as flight control, landing gear, and canopy rigging are required. In-depth knowledge of the AF technical order system and work center management functions is required. Must encourage, promote, and instill a cooperative team relationship by using tact and a professional approach during inspections and observations of the maintenance effort. Must portray a positive attitude towards mission accomplishment and company goals. High school graduate or equivalent is required. Must read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to qualify for a security clearance, if required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line drivers license. Physical exertion requirement is medium.
