Position Summary/Essential Duties:
Coordinates with other members of the health care team to develop and provide effective age specific patient/family education in the Family Learning Center/at bedside and to maintain the Family Learning Center environment and resources. Essential Duties include:
1.Processes referrals for Family Learning Center Services
2.Schedules and teaches educational programs
3.Communicates verbally with the health care team and documents education in the Patient Care Record 4.Ensures that Family Leaning Center operations and programs meet patient/family needs
5.Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice Knowledge of principles of teaching/learning with adult and child learners.
6.Demonstrated effective oral and written skills.
One (1) year RN experience required.
Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice. Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (i.e. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices.
Three (3) years in progressive pediatric clinical practice required, at least one of them at a facility with complexity similar to that encountered at RB&C Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification BLS Certification
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Minimum of Diploma/Associate’s Degree in nursing from accredited program.
For external candidates:
Experienced nurses with Associate Degrees/Diploma in Nursing will commit at the time of hire to complete a Bachelors of Science Degree (BSN) or higher in nursing within 5 years of hire.
Registered nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.
CPR certified in 90 days.
