Provides professional evaluations of applicant credentials who have self-nominated in the Career Opportunities System (COS). Reviews and analyzes personnel documents and makes determinations as to statutory and regulatory compliance with regards to the merit system. Reviews applicant's education and work experience according to guidelines. Independently approves/rejects qualifications based on minimum requirements. Reviews and processes agency requests. Must be a self-starter and work well with little or no supervision. Good communication skills required for working with customers and agency contacts. Must have experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Drafts correspondence to various agencies and applicants when necessary. |

PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT AND TRAINING
Characteristics of the Class :
Provides administrative support in one of the following program areas within the Personnel Cabinet: employee records and processing, payroll, classification and compensation, applicant processing, employment counseling, staffing analysis, performance management, employee recognition and other programs administered by the cabinet; and performs other duties as required.
Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements :
Work is performed in an office setting and involves frequent contact by telephone or in-person with state employees and applicants. Incumbents must travel occasionally when working with state agencies.
