Job Description:
As a DB2 LUW DBA the candidate will be working in an IT shared services area that provides operational support for all business units utilizing this technology. This is a growing and demanding area which today consists of 50+ servers, many using more advanced features of DB2 LUW. You may also help provide DBA support for a limited number of Informix databases.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidate must have exceptional knowledge and experience supporting DB2 LUW database technology on AIX 6.1, SuSE 10, and SuSE 11 environments. Must have worked supporting: . Databases using Partitioning and HA/DR features of DB2 LUW. . In-depth knowledge of AIX and SuSE Linux Operating Systems including expertise in shell scripts. . Backup / Recovery / DR for DB2 LUW databases. . Troubleshooting end-to-end performance related issues including application code, database performance, OS / Server performance, along with network and storage related issues. . In-depth knowledge of DB2 utilities like LOAD, EXPORT, IMPORT, BACKUP and RESTORE.
A candidate with knowledge and experience supporting Informix databases technology on HP-UX 10.x / 11.x, SuSE 10, and SuSE 11 environments would have an upper hand
