JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop/administer owner’s integrated project schedule addressing engineering, procurement, fabrication/construction, installation and startup/commissioning phases
  • Review the Contractor schedule for usefulness, logic, level of detail, input sources, timing, and consistency with the Current Estimate, WBS, and PEP
  • Status and update all project activities that are outside the Contractor’s scope
  • Appraise Contactors’ progress relative to the schedule
  • Review, upgrade as necessary, and approve the Contractor’s schedule control plan
  • Develop/administer master cost tracking/forecasting template for assigned project
  • Develop/update various Project Controls Progress indicators (% Spent vs. % Complete, Actual cost vs. Budget, Critical Path schedules, etc.) to assist the Project Manager in evaluation of project health and focus areas
  • Ensure the Contractor’s schedule and cost forecast assumptions are in alignment
  • Reconcile committed costs to actual costs on a monthly basis
  • Complement efforts of other PMT members in their appraisal of cost and schedule performance for their respective areas, respond to ad hoc requests from PMT related to Controls/Reporting
  • Investigate cost inconsistencies and booked charges as required
  • Establish and maintain project progress measurement systems for assigned projects
  • Review and, where appropriate, endorse cost and schedule progress baselines and forecasts prepared by contractors
  • Assist site management in developing/reviewing cost and schedule corrective action and recovery plans, and making sure needed actions/plans are implemented
  • Review and endorse progress measures reported by the contractor
  • Prepare and review with Project Manager routine stewardship process updates including Monthly Work in Place (WIP) reporting, Monthly Capex Outlook. Monthly Projects Stewardship, ALBP Major Project Data Sheet Entry
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business Administration
  • Professional position with 10+ years with demonstrated Project Controls experience including cost and schedule exposure
  • Experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project software
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel. Power Point, working knowledge of Access)
  • Thorough and extensive knowledge of Project Controls principles, theories, concepts, practices, processes, and expectations with respect to project controls
  • High degree of competence required in CPM scheduling, resource loading and project planning including progress measurement systems, S-curves, and earned value systems.
  • Ability to apply fundamentals of Critical Path Method scheduling
  • Strong initiative, ability to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve results
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Some domestic travel may be required
