Lead the industrialization of new (uncured) tire designs in our manufacturing facilities, providing robust, cost-effective solutions as needed, adapted to the local conditions and ensuring quality compliance to meet defined customer and plant needs.
Adapt the uncured tire designs and processes based on the central referential taking into account the local plant constraints (equipment, product standardization).
Analyze dimensional architecture and quality results, develop improvement plans and take steps to improve the dimensional performance.
Participate in the local quality planning, including feasibility studies allowing the plant to commit to its production responsibilities.
Coordinate the dimensional start-ups and model evolutions with respect to quality and level of service agreed.
Lead projects and teams to resolve dimensional issues and in doing so, mentor the workshop technicians to ensure pertinent tire performance criteria are considered in shop quality decisions.
Feedback to central groups, and participate as required, to enable evolution of study rules.
Engage the workshops in the monitoring of current production quality through awareness of performance problems, participating in any necessary corrections.
Contribute to the continuing evolution of the plant processes.
Act as plant liaison with the central technical functions during all phases of the tire life cycle to optimize performance.
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred, but other engineering degrees are acceptable if the candidate has design experience, either in school or in the workforce.
2 - 3 years design experience, beyond the classroom, using 3D design tools such as Pro-E, Solidworks, Autocad or Catia
Fluency in English is required. Having additional language skills in French or Spanish is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
