Will aid pharmacist in preparation, dispensing, record keeping, and transporting of medications for all patients in age groups. Under minimal supervision, performs the required duties of a technician at a high level of proficiency, demonstrating exemplary work behaviors and ownership for the success of the work area.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire Current certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy By virtue of societal trust and security explicitly imparted to pharmacies for the control of drugs, candidate/incumbent must have a clean criminal record (i.e. no felony conviction; no drug or pharmacy related convictions, including misdemeanors; no denial, suspension, revocation, or restriction of registration or licensure by any State Board of Pharmacy) Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment including CPR, etc Current certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy

Demonstrates the ability to receive, interpret, and prepare for dispensing all incoming medication orders. Understands the processes of medication preparation with consideration for the age of the patient and the nature of the medication. Demonstrates the ability to accurately compounds pharmaceuticals and ensures the finished products are appropriately labeled, and checked. Takes action to ensure medications are delivered in a timely manner. Asks questions to clarify ambiguous directions or processes. Orders and maintains adequate stock in the work area and ensures stock is appropriately stored and in date. score: N/A
