The primary function of the Hospice Chaplain, as a professional within the interdisciplinary team, provides spiritual support and counseling to Hospice patients and families and networks within the community to educate and develop support for Hospice.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Masters of Divinity from accredited Theological School or Board Certified Chaplain.
LICENSURE: Board Certified Chaplain.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 2 years additional clinical pastoral education.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of spiritual and counseling needs of terminally ill patients and their families. Knowledge of the Hospice concept. Knowledge of the community (area, religious groups).
COMPUTER SKILLS: Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop or laptop, including starting programs, using files, and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.
TRANSPORTATION: Must have reliable transportation.
