Position Summary:
As the Director of HR - Retail Stores, you will oversee
and lead the field human resources team in the strategic
development and tactical execution and support all HR
initiatives in the retail stores to positively impact
organizational effectiveness and performance. You will
be responsible for understanding the critical business
needs as it relates to people and developing the Human
Resources strategies that will drive the company’s
profitable growth.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a strategic business partner and resource
to the operations department and their leadership
team to promote the right culture that maximizes
profitable sales and employee morale.
  • Establishes the field human resources strategy that
identifies current and future gaps in organization
capabilities and creates short term and long term
action plans to close the gaps and address talent
flow requirements and availability.
  • Sets metrics to measure success against tactical
plans and actions.
  • Leads the field Shipboard Human Resources team in a
generalist capacity to develop and execute HR
initiatives in recruitment, employee relations,
talent management and development.
  • Identify key levers and initiatives to accelerate
the development of high performance teams.
  • Fosters an environment of development and growth of
the Shipboard HR team.
  • Partners and collaborates with store operations
management to align talent management strategies
with business objectives.
  • Develops and enhances performance, succession and
talent planning processes to efficiently and
effectively integrate talent management as a
business process.
  • Creates tools and resources to establish meaningful
performance goals and individual development plans
that enhance individual, team, and organizational
  • Directs, oversees and supports HR strategies and
programs for shipboard including leadership
assessment and development, coaching, succession
management, career pathing, onboarding, and
performance management.
  • Develops shipboard recruiting and workforce planning
strategies that support business objectives and
needs. Identifies the best acquisition strategies to
hire the highest caliber talent.
  • Lead the effort to create systems and processes to
support the people development requirements within
the retail operations.

Job Requirements:Skills Required:
  • Strong leadership skills

  • A solid understanding of group and corporate
dynamics and the demonstrated ability to employ
sound judgment in complex situations
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal, public communication and
facilitation skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with all
levels within the organization
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel internationally and provide
leadership support for our ships during weekend
  • Must be comfortable working through ambiguity and in
a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Education/Experience Required:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Training and
Development or Organization Development preferred
  • 10-15 years of solid career progression within HR,
including time at a director level overseeing HR
managers, with working knowledge of all functional
HR areas.
  • Exposure to senior management on a regular basis
  • Experience in retail a plus
