This job is responsible for transporting employees, equipment, specimens, reports, and supplies to and from hospitals and other designated locations. An incumbent ensures that items are picked up and delivered on schedule and transported according to requirements.
Provides courier services by picking up and delivering supplies, equipment, lab specimens, etc.
Follows courier routes to ensure reliable service, and ensures that customer service issues are resolved; informs management of the issue resolved or unresolved.
Ensures that supply or equipment requests are completed and delivered; informs management of any damaged equipment, supplies, or unsafe act.
Transports and stores specimens in appropriate temperature containers; informs management of unusual or jeopardized specimens.
Pulls renal supplies for delivery from Store's stock.
Makes predetermined routine trips and other trips as assigned.
Ensures that any act or decision made is in the behalf of the patient and does not place the patient in an unsafe situation.
Provides safe, efficient and timely transportation of employees between off-site parking lots and workplace.
Operates a 14 passenger shuttle bus with a wheel chair lift per all departmental and regulatory agency policies, procedures and requirements.
Assists with wheel chair lift and securing wheel chairs appropriately.
Follows established schedule and routes and notifies Dispatcher and/or Supervisor of issues promptly.
Three years of recent related work experience, or any combination of education and experience that would demonstrate the capability to perform the duties of the position. If operating a 14 passenger shuttle bus, 3 months recent experience in operating a 14 passenger shuttle bus preferred. Satisfactory Abstract of Driving Record (Type: Employment Record) must be provided and meet departmental standards.
Current Washington State Driver's License, subject to state vehicle verification to comply with hospital insurance requirements.
