Work Study will assist with the daily activities occurring in Cultural Programs, which includes the Cultural Arts Series and Arts Festival Oklahoma. The schedule of hours to be observed by the work study will be set by the Director of Cultural Programs with the assistance of the Cultural Programs Assistant and the Cultural Programs Receptionist/Secretary. The recruited work study will be hired in compliance with the guidelines established by the Department of Human Resources of Oklahoma City Community College ( OCCC ).

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
The work study will assist the Director and office staff with the daily activities of the Department of Cultural Programs.

Assist with clerical activities associated with office of Cultural Programs.

Answer phone and associated inquiries; including the processing of CAS ticket requests per established guidelines.

Deliver and pick up memos, forms, and other materials as required.

Filing.

Distribute mail as required.

Update computer files, including Word and Excel (PR files)

Composing, typing, and mailing of correspondence.

Process Cultural Arts Series ticket requests per established guidelines.

Assist with scheduling of activities/performances of visiting artists with Student Life, instructors, and other departments.

Distribute PR materials associated with Cultural Arts Series.

Assist with gathering of items required by performers for their Cultural Arts Series performances and educational activities.

Assist with the Tuesday and Thursday evening performances of Cultural Arts Series.

Assist as requested by Director and his/her assistant(s).

Effectively interact with and provide information and assistance to faculty, staff, students, and the public regarding Cultural Programs programs, services, and operations.

Completion of quarterly safety and health training a required by OCCC .

Completion of Sexual Harassment prevention training as required by OCCC

Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures)
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Minimum Education/Experience
Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study Award.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel. Additional programs if possible: InDesign CS5, PhotoShopCS5.

Proficient listening skills and ability to institute instructions.

Flexible hours. Must be able to assist with Tuesday and Thursday evening Cultural Arts Series programs, additional Cultural Programs special events, and Arts Festival Oklahoma.

Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

Professional attitude and demeanor.

Proficient communication skills; written and oral.

Customer Service skills.

Typing, filing, bookkeeping.

Attention to Detail.

Self motivated regarding job duties once they have been related and/or demonstrated.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.

Must be willing to work in several working environments: office, theatre, college hallways, college storage areas, and outside; any locale associated with or where Cultural Programs activities can take place.

Must be able to lift or push up to fifty pounds, for short periods of time; moving or transporting of Cultural Arts Series and Arts Festival Oklahoma work station and boxes.

Preferred Qualifications
Polite, professional, mature individual with computer skills.

Ability to learn new computer programs quickly, i.e. Vendini Ticket Agent and Vendini Box Office Magic.

Speak foreign language; preferable Spanish (other may be acceptable) to assist visiting artists and communications with other countries.

Required Training

Work Hours
Monday – Friday with some evenings (Cultural Arts Series programs and special events)and Memorial Day weekend (Arts Festival Oklahoma).
