The selected individuals will be working in the Jet Test Area with other personnel to perform tests, generate valid test data, conduct inspections, set up and monitor instrumentation systems. Perform mechanical assembly work, preventative maintenance, repair of special test equipment and facilities, and fabricate /assemble/install mechanical systems to test turbo jet engines and components as directed
Key Job Responsibilities:
Acquire tools, material, and hardware per maintenance requirements to perform facilities and test equipment maintenance. Follow procedures to prep, mount, test, reconfigure, dismount, maintain, and ship jet engines or components. Assist others in setting up test stand and installing Special Test Equipment (STE). Monitor test parameters, set up work platforms, assist others to operate various test equipment. Take fuel and oil samples and record in log. Maintain proper record keeping. Ensure all functions are performed according to Pratt & Whitney, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality policies.
In addition to the typical duties listed above, this position also requires:

(a2 Prompt reporting of malfunctioning equipment and machines
(a2 Working within EH&S Guidelines as defined by UTC, P&W, and OSHA
(a2 Training for obtaining and maintaining licenses, operator permits, and certifications.
(a2 Participation in Company and Department sponsored EH&S and Quality initiatives
High School Education plus 2-3 years formal training in power plant mechanics and testing, or military equivalent.
Requires well rounded knowledge of aero-propulsion systems, hardware, components, instrumentation installations, and test stand configurations. Requires ability to interpret and work from complicated drawings, specifications, procedures, and instructions to fabricate, configure, install, remove/replace and set up a variety of power systems, components, module, test stands, and equipment. Candidate must also be familiar with computers and the Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to obtain and maintain certifications to operate powered industrial vehicles.
The selected candidate may be asked to work varying shifts as needed.
A&P license or Military equivalent experience preferred.
