Job Title: Senior Data Communications Engineer
Job Type: Contract 10-12 months + poss. Extensions
Location: Northern Canada
Rate: Exceptional rates based on experience
Provide a high level of experience in Network design, planning and implementation in a large WAN environment. Experience in Satellite technology will be considered an asset;
Provide a high level of experience in Network design, planning and implementation in a large distributed MAN/ LAN environment, utilizing Ethernet over various last mile technologies including Cisco switching/routing and Firewalls;
Provide mentoring and elevated support (Tier 3) to Tier 1-2 technicians, Regional Technicians and a variety of end users departments specifically in support of data communications network;
Provide communities with phone or remote support using administration tools provided by the client;
Communicate with third party vendors of Data communication equipment and associated applications used by the client;
Provide expertise on identified internal IPS projects relating to the IT infrastructure;
Contribute to the post mortem analysis following any assigned project completion;
Provide recommendations to improve and enhance the Network environment both technically and procedurally;
It will be a requirement that we provide a satisfactory criminal reports check of the Consultant prior to commencement of work. In the event a criminal record exists, the Client will have sole discretion in denying or accepting the Consultant to the position.
Rates and Expenses:
You will be reimbursed for the actual cost of one return airline ticket to our Client's location per the specific call up. As part of this return flight cost reimbursement, this is a one-time benefit and will not apply to renewals or extensions of contracts.
Rates will be broken down as follows:
$Daily Rate (7.5 hrs/day) + $Accommodation Cost + $Living Expenses/Day

Degree in Computer Science or IT related diploma/degree;
10+ years of experience in the below mentioned responsibilities;
Related Industry Certifications, for example, Cisco and Nortel;
Design, administer and manage a large distributed Cisco LAN/WAN routing/switched environment and experience with Cisco firewalls;
Knowledge of IP networks to the packets level;
Ability to work in a team environment as well as work on individual tasks;
Excellent writing and documentation skills;
High level of organizational skills;
Trustworthiness, and professional integrity;
Can be relied upon to remain on assignment(s) until completion.
