The
Oncology Specialist
will be responsible for patient care activities on a medical oncology unit.
Activities include participation in patient care rounds, chemotherapy order review, monitoring, and adverse effect management, medication-related policy, procedure and protocol development, and promotion of safety initiatives related to the oncology patient.
The Oncology Specialist may also participate in pharmacokinetic dosing service activities, hospital committees and other duties as assigned.
Promotion of safe, appropriate and cost effective medication utilization in the oncology population is a key role.
The specialist will also provide education for pharmacy students and residents (PGY1 & PGY2) as well as pharmacy, medical and nursing staff.
AB27 paygrade.
Requires Pharmacy Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy or foreign equivalency. Requires Completion of a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and a PGY-2 in Oncology or equivalent experience. BCOP preferred.
Requires current State of Michigan Pharmacist and Controlled Substance licensure.
