Under the general direction of the principal investigator (PI) carries out the functions needed to conduct clinical research in conjunction with regulatory affairs staff. Direct patient contact will vary depending on the clinical area of studies assigned.
Education: Minimum of one-year (24 credits) post high school education in a health-care related field is required. Two to four years post high school education in a medical or science field is preferred. Working knowledge or course work in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology and Microsoft Office computer programs required. (Education qualifications must be from a school whose accreditation is recognized by Marshfield Clinic).
License/Certification: LPN, Certified Medical Assistant or certification in clinical research from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) preferred.
Experience: Candidates without a Bachelor's degree in a medical or science field require a minimum of four years previous work experience in a medical or science field.
Candidates with an Associate's degree in a medical or science field require a minimum of two years previous work experience in a medical or science field.
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in the field of medicine or science require one-year previous work experience in a medical or science field.
