This
New Ulm Plastic Molding Engineering
position will support the Plastic Molding and Assembly focused factory. 3M New Ulm is comprised of 600+ non-union employees. New Ulm, MN has a population of 14,000 and is located approximately 90 miles southwest of the Twin Cities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Identify and implement safety, quality, service, and productivity improvement projects.
Perform cross-functional team leadership for new process start-ups, new process technology integration, cost reduction, and supply chain improvement/management.
Candidate skills:
Experience and/or education in the field of plastic injection molding is primarily desired however, the successful candidate could alternatively have experience and/or education in the following areas: Manufacturing Engineering, Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, statistical analysis, process equipment design, or controls and automation.
Manufacturing technologies used in this focused factory include plastic injection molding, high speed automated mechanical assembly & metal stamping.
Candidates must possess the ability to perform root cause analysis and apply systematic problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills are vital, as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
Qualifications
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering(Plastics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology or Agricultural)
3+ years experience in manufacturing engineering
3+ years experience in injection molding or automated mechanical assembly.
Lean six sigma
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels in the organization
