We're currently seeking bright, energetic and motivated people with a desire to make a difference and change lives.POSITION: DIRECTOR OF COMPLIANCE will provide oversight and coordination of an institutional compliance program that promotes the highest standards of ethics, integrity and responsibility within the institution. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Oversee compliance functions and ensure the institution is following its stated policies; federal, state and local laws and regulations; and accreditor regulations. Develop and implement written policies, procedures and standards of conduct. Develop and implement compliance guidelines for service providers and coordinate compliance review and monitoring of service provider activity. Design and implement compliance communications. Develop, coordinate and participate in a multi-faceted educational and training program that seeks to ensure all employees are knowledgeable of the elements of the institutional compliance program. Conduct periodic risk assessments and response plans. Coordinate internal compliance review, monitoring and auditing activities, including periodic reviews of departments. Serve as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance issues / concerns within the institution. Serve as a channel of communication to receive and direct compliance issues to appropriate resources for investigation and resolution and as a final internal resource with which concerned parties may communicate after other formal channels and resources have been exhausted. Conduct research and keep current on key compliance issues affecting higher education. Collaborate with other departments to ensure linkage between the institutions strategic plan and regulatory requirements. LOCATION: Toledo, Ohio, San Francisco, CA or remote with extensive travel.SALARY: Commensurate with experience. EDUCATION: Bachelors degree is required. Masters degree or JD preferred.EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS NEEDED: The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience either directly in a higher education institution or in related regulatory or accrediting agencies, with a deep knowledge of higher education practices, regulations, compliance and accrediting agencies. The successful candidate must possess strong time management and organization skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability work cooperatively with accreditation boards, related organizations and other departments. Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends is also required.
