Data Scientist / Research Engineer

San Francisco, CA

Use the vast amount of user experience data to help determine focus areas for improvement and product development. Work closely with the research team to identify evaluation metrics for different recommendation strategies.

You will have access to data on over 15 billion records, as well as preference and markup data on over 50 million

websites, and 15 million users. You will write data mining algorithms and/or work with data mining tools in order to discover interesting patterns and track changes in the data. You will present your findings to the research team and eventually the whole company.

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields.
  • Experience in working with very large datasets.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience with data mining tools.
  • Startup experience.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical background.
  • Experience in working with SQL.
  • Experience in working with large scale data warehouses.
  • Programming skills in Java/PHP or other languages.
  • Expertise in data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, search relevance, etc.
