Arapahoe House is currently seeking a Primary Therapist II – Adolescent Outpatient to join our outstanding team. The Primary Therapist is responsible for the provision of comprehensive substance abuse treatment services for clients with substance abuse and co–occurring mental health issues. Description: Full–time position working with adolescents in a progressive substance–use disorder and behavioral health treatment clinic 9:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday in Thornton and Aurora, CO.
Individual will provide group counseling, individual counseling, possibly some family counseling, as well as perform admission/assessment for adolescents with substance abuse problems. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with other professionals involved with the client, as well as work closely with family. To learn more about Arapahoe House, please visit our website www.arapahoehouse.org – Masters degree in a related field (psychology, counseling, human services, social work, etc.) with 1000 hours documentable experience in addiction counseling work and 120 clock hours of addiction–specific education and/or training. – Prefer licensure (LAC, LPC, LCSW or LMFT). – Certified Addictions Counselor II (CAC II).
– CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred. – Prefer experience working with adolescents. To best serve our clients, *counseling professionals who wish to be considered for a clinical position, such as this one with Arapahoe House MUST be registered as a Certified Addiction Counselor in the state of Colorado (CAC I, II or III), or hold a license as an LPC, LAC, LMFT or LCSW, or be registered in the DORA database as an Unlicensed Psychotherapist. Proof of certification, licensure or registration must accompany your application or resume submission.
