JOB FUNCTION: The Electrical Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot and repair electrical machinery up to and including 480V, 3-phase devices and wiring. Electrician will test malfunctioning equipment, such as transformers, motors, control components and lighting fixtures, using test equipment and PLC interfaces. Electrician will also replace faulty wiring using hand tools and power tools. They diagnose faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, variable frequency drives, motors, and position sensing devices. Additionally, Electrician will plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus. Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs to manufacturing equipment as needed .

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Examine form and texture of parts to detect abnormalities. Inspect used/failed parts to determine root cause of failure using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
Set-up and operate drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Train others in routine preventative maintenance; failure phenomena data collection and root cause analysis. Operate equipment such as fork lifts, serial lifts, and small cranes.
Schedule and plan work orders - ordering, receiving, organizing, stocking, staging and distributing parts, materials and supplies. Manage inventory control and documentation libraries. Coordinate with in-house and outside engineers, vendors and contractors.

Physical Demands:
In degree of strenuousness, this job is considered heavy work. Heavy work is defined as exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This job requires frequent climbing of ladders and stairs and overhead work. Work is performed primarily outdoors.

Work Hours:
There will be three shifts per 24-hour period and shift rotation will be required. Maximum overtime may extend from 12 - 24 hours per week.

High school diploma or GED

Three (3) years prior experience with industrial repair and operation is required.

Two (2) years prior experience with PLC including reading and writing code.

Experience with ControlLogix, PLCS and SLC500 preferred.

Ability to read, write, and troubleshoot basic Allen Bradley ladder logic.

Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, CMMS software such as Maximo).

Coal handling or other bulk material handling experience is preferred.

Ability to read and understand electrical, equipment manuals, pneumatic schematics as well as mechanical drawings.

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
