Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Advisor Completions Engineer located in Moon Township, Pennsylvania through March 20th at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Candidates may need to work in Houston in a developmental role for several months, before moving to Moon Township.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Providing completion engineering design and operations support to Appalachian Michigan Business Unit (AMBU) D&C organization.
Performing investigations into certain key areas or issues affecting well completion efficiency and looks for opportunities to leverage technology and best practices to improve well design and completion / well intervention operations.
Creating / maintaining a comprehensive database of key completion / well performance parameters and formation / produced fluid properties for all targeted shale wells.
Performing multi-variant analysis (ie: SpotFire, Transform-MVstats™, SLB-Mangrove, …) and Design of Experiments to identify key relationships and craft pilot testing initiatives focused on optimization of multi-stage fracturing operations.
Coordinating new technology evaluations and field pilot activity. Monitor leading-edge technologies in Chevron and industry-wide related to completion / stage-frac activities and looks for opportunities to introduce / pilot test / deploy them in value-added Chevron field applications.
Assist the creation of recommended operating procedures, guidelines, and best practice documents for shale completions and factory fracing operations.
Liaise between AMBU activity / needs and extended Chevron Energy Technology Company (ETC) support from the Shale Unit and other ETC D&C groups focused on troubleshooting completion problems.
Support technology development and strategic research programs in the area of stage-frac well completions for shale assets.
Serve as a key SME for the plug n' perf multi-stage frac method within ETC.
Provide technical guidance and technology / best practices / knowledge transfer between AMBU, other Business Units, and ETC geared towards all aspects of well engineering, fracture stimulation design, and operations related to shale asset well construction.
Bachelor’s in Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in similar roles: Diverse engineering and operations knowledge related to technology, rock mechanics theory, products, services, tools, materials, equipment, procedures, and practices which are relevant to designing and implementing horizontal stage-frac completions in shale asset development.
Diverse operational and engineering experience directly related to horizontal stage-frac completions in shale plays.
Proven understanding of how to navigate and leverage the operational capabilities, technologies, best practices, experience of service company partners, technical libraries, and/or other networking sources to support well completion planning and operations activity related to shale asset development.
Expertise around performing multi-variant analysis (ie: SpotFire).
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
