EDUCATION:
College degree preferred with a concentration in business administration or marketing. Post graduate participation in management, marketing and sales training seminars, as well as hotel and resort industry programs a plus EXPERIENCE:
A progressive track record of 5 or more years with full responsibility for sales plans and programs including functional experience as follows:
Successful career of achieving goals with hotel servicing a balance of the carriage trade and high-end group business in different markets. Preferred experience in South Florida Market. SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Exceptional one-on-one sales ability. Excellent communication skills, in both verbal and written form. Must be able to read write and converse in the English Language Good time management skills. Must be well disciplined, mature and have the ability to work under pressure. Ability to act independently with minimal or no direct supervision. Must possess basic computer skills. Strong leadership and team building skills. Well organized administrator with attention to priorities and detail. Ability to travel and to work flexible hours per week as needed Persuasive manner with demonstrated skill in closing sales.
Responsible for soliciting, selling and booking group business in order to achieve or exceed annual goals in order to maximize profitability and overall success of hotel Responsible for maximizing revenues in the group market relative to a team and/or an individual goal. To increase hotel revenues through effective selling and confirmation of group business through aggressive negotiations. Develop Revenue Generators to increase sells in vertical markets. Assist the Director of Sales in the recruitment, training, motivation and counseling of sales team in an effort to generate enthusiasm, excitement, and ability to meet and exceed sales goals. Focus on prospecting, sales calls and rebooking repeat business. Assist Director of Sales in the coordination of Sales Meetings monthly/quarterly. Participate in weekly Leadership Meetings when needed. Maintain constant communication with sister properties and coordinate sales efforts when possible. Travel to tradeshows/industry events when needed.
