Technical Writer III

This work is contingent upon award of contract. Position will be located in Fort Detrick, MD .

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, review, proofread, and modify technical chemical and biological defense documentation, including, but not limited to, briefings, presentations, reports, plans, memorandums, correspondence, journal articles, and information papers.

Skills and Background Desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or similar discipline is required.
  • At least five (5) years of general experience and two (2) years of experience in a program office or similar organization are required.
  • Expertise in FDA regulations – specifically pharmaceutical, biologics and devices – is required, as well as working knowledge of CBRN countermeasures and the Army Publishing Program (i.e., AR 25-30).
  • Experience in preparing and editing FDA regulatory submissions, including IND submissions, cover letter requests for FDA meetings, investigator brochures, chemical manufacturing control sections, and non-clinical and clinical protocols/study reports, is also required.


Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with a current secret security clearance or applicants who are eligible for a secret security clearance. Please note that only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
