Responsible for building and operating the U.S. tax controllership Center of Excellence for GE Capital Tax. Direct management responsibilities. This position reports to the GE Capital Tax Operations Leader.
Develop and lead U.S. tax controllership operations for the GE Capital HQ Center of Excellence (COE).
Advise on tax issues.
Partner with GE Capital Business units and Tax Reporting COE leader to simplify and integrate tax reporting and controllership processes, systems and tools.
Drive initiatives across business unit including simplification and process improvement projects.
Work cross functionally and across teams to drive tax compliance.
Supervise and manage direct report(s).
Maintain regulatory awareness: drive compliance and support regulatory initiatives.
Bachelor's Degree, Juris Doctorate, Masters of Taxation or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
Minimum 10 years of tax experience in major accounting firm, law firm, or multinational company.
Tax accounting experience.
Knowledge of US tax rules (international and domestic).
Experience in tax accounting principles (ASC 740, Fin 48, Sox 404).
Experience Managing Projects.
Experience managing direct reports.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office (eg. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Demonstrated strong communication skills to communicate complex tax issues, opportunities, and risks to non-tax experts in a clear and concise manner.
Prior experience in leading tax controllership teams.
Strong technical U.S. tax expertise.
Strong tax accounting knowledge including U.S. shareholder accounting.
Proven experience improving processes including leveraging technology.
Ability to work cross functionally. Financial Services Industry experience.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
