The Enabling Platforms and Services (EPS) team's mission is to "Define and deliver development platforms and services that inspire developers and enable TTM of Intel Products". EPS does this by delivering software development platforms (SDPs) and kits to Intel engineering teams and development partners (OSVs, ISVs, and end users) to develop and optimize operating systems, applications, drivers, firmware and tools that differentiate IA in the marketplace. Providing this advanced hardware to the ecosystem in a timely manner is a key value to successful platform launches.

Job Description: In this position, you will be EPS's Platform Development Engineer providing technical leadership for Mobile ULX Software Development Platforms that EPS provides to customers. You will be the lead for EPS engineering teams while interfacing with our customers, Intel's Mobile business unit at the PXT level and suppliers to influence the next generation Mobile ULX development platforms. As the platforms progress through the PLC from Power-On to Qual, you will define the SDP technical and "out-of-box" requirements to meet the needs of developers (OSV/ISV/Engineering). The PDE is also the technical author of collateral such as Product reference manuals, Quick Start Guides and Dear Customer Letters. The Product Development Engineer is responsible for SDP feature and phase definition, hardware test development and functionality validation to ensure compliance prior to shipment, including First Article Inspection for platform release approval for shipment to our customers around the world. The PDE will define and deliver segment technology roadmaps to internal customer which involves researching and understanding new and upcoming technologies. The ideal candidate is a great team player with technical and leadership skills who will thrive in a fast paced work environment and is excited to work on new and upcoming server technologies.

Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and 3+ yrs. of experience or Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and 4+ yrs. of experience or equivalent experience in the field.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in architecture development including system analysis, problem decomposition and a pragmatic understanding of how systems are integrated.
Technical understanding of IA and HW/SW interoperability is a plus.
Minimum 1 year platform debug experience on platforms utilizing Linux and/or Microsoft operating systems.
Experience in platform functionality and stability testing is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of the product development life cycle: Intel PPLC and PLC process preferred.
Minimum 2+ years of experience with platform component selection.
Minimum 2+ years of experience with customer engagement and communication.
