Overall Job Function: Acts as a communications expert on all internal communication. Creates and implements an overall internal activity strategy and plan. Leads the entire Conscious/CSR strategy and targeted PR/Marketing initiatives. Responsible for creation and implementation of the US. Charity strategy and plan, initiatives and community relations.

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:
  • Responsible for creation and implementation of the Internal Communications, CSR and Charitable strategies
  • Streamlines internal/external communications that support campaigns, projects and company initiatives together with the marketing and communications department
  • Maintains internal communications protocol, with regard to consistency in formatting, layout and messaging
  • Analyzes and improves store-level communications in order to increase effectiveness, consistency on the corporate and store level
  • Find new and effective methods to deliver information
  • Reviews all information sent through internal communication channels to assure it is clear and concise with the goal to reduce the amount of information sent to all stores
  • Edits all global press releases and acts as the English-language liaison between US and Sweden
  • Overall responsible for implementing and updating all the internal tools: the weekly Shop Info newsletter, SIP system, Wallpaper, H&M newsroom, H& and the intranet
  • Responsibility for planning the Communication Sales Advisor meetings
  • Project leader on combined PR/Marketing projects
  • Works closely cross-functionally in order to ensure a clear and united message with the PR, Corporate Communication, HR and Marketing departments.
  • Responsible for producing and presenting innovative insightful and concise presentations internally and externally that support new and evolving departmental projects as well as showing results for efforts made.
  • Responsible for all Communication Department reports and presentations to the company
  • Responsible for adding to the PR calendars, US Communications strategy, one sheets, project budgets, timelines
  • Responsible for creation internal and external communication materials using written, graphic design, video and/or photo content
  • Maintains photo and video archives for the communication department
  • Creates and Distributes corporate information to US employees, e.g. CEO letters to the staff, other global (SEHO) announcements
  • Serves as CSR/Conscious project leader
  • Responsible for CSR Press strategy and outreach
  • Responsible for the all the Conscious Actions for the US
  • Responsible for the creation of Cause marketing strategies
  • Conducts CSR market competitor research, prioritizing, and presenting local CSR initiatives to Management
  • Uses CSR campaigns to educate employees, customers and media about H&M’s as an ethical and socially responsible brand
  • Develops and facilitates strategies and tactics to further H&M’s US charity work and community relations goals
  • Focuses on local collaborations with key charity partners to further create awareness, motivate employees and garner media interest
  • Completes Annual update of US Charitable Giving Methodology
  • Acts as project leader for annual American Cancer Society “Making Strides” national initiative, or similar
  • Manages the Gifts In Kind relationship and product donations, as well as web “splash-page” content
  • Manages day-to-day customer and employee outreach with regard to charitable giving and community relations initiatives
  • Researches new charity organizations for possible future partnerships
  • Provides Sweden with updates on US charity initiatives
  • Helps foster stronger media, charity and community-level relationships
  • Counsels region and district teams with regard to charity and community relations opportunities
  • Leverages and tracks charitable donations
  • Negotiates all charitable partnership contracts and develops a competitive analysis for charitable initiatives
  • Leads internal Crisis Communication team
  • Assists with Corporate Communication projects
  • Responsible for all internal gifting

Financial Accountability: Responsible for maintaining ( U.S. charitable giving) budget of approximately $200K and corresponding vendor relationships.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, English, journalism or marketing preferred
  • Proven ability in writing and editing (published)
  • 5 – 7 years Corporate/Internal Communications background

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of online/in-house research tools
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint (advanced)
  • Experience with graphic design and ability to create/edit internal, external presentations including video and photographic content
  • Ability to create scripts for external presentations
  • Knowledge of Visio (intermediate level) preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Travel between 10 – 20%
