Minimum Requirement - Primary Education :
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in paralegal science or a bachelor’s degree with a minor in paralegal studies.
Minimum Requirement - Primary Experience :
Must have four years of experience as a paralegal.
Education Substitution :
Completion of a two-year program in paralegal studies will substitute for the bachelor’s degree requirement OR
a post-baccalaureate certificate in paralegal studies will substitute for the bachelor’s degree requirement OR a Juris Doctorate or a law degree from a college of law will substitute for the education and experience requirement.
Experience Substitution :
Experience as a paralegal will substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Description of Job Duties
The occupant of this position will provide a variety of legal services which are unique, controversial and/or technical in nature. They will conduct complex analytical legal research for the district attorney(s), review condemnation parcel batches in detail for accuracy and completeness, as well as review title reports. They will also locate potential expert witnesses and prepare requests. The occupant of this position will draft technical pleadings, deeds and releases, provide complete and thorough research of data for attorney(s) and assist in drafting suits through critically analyzing the law and facts of the case, identify problems and suggest corrective measures. They will accurately maintain ProLaw information and organize and maintain files, prepare and update master calendar for case schedules, process timesheets and mail accurately and timely, as well as other duties as assigned. Travel may be required. The complexity of legal issues and caseload for the district office necessitates the need for this position.
