Telecom Tech Specialist - Lead (Job Number: 320953)
SAIC has a career opportunity for a Team Lead located in Albuquerque, NM.
Team Lead will provide Tier 3 technical support to the other technicians. Team Lead will successfully manage and monitor workload of team, effectively mentor team members, and maintain good relations with customers. The Team Lead will manage team projects as assigned by their Operations Lead, attend as needed meetings with leadership and will be required to complete work assigned. In addition to Tier 3 technical support, Team Lead will continue to perform in the role as a Desktop Technician.
Required skills: Candidate must have direct experience on the CURRENT Sandia National Laboratories contract. Candidate must have demonstrated and been recognized for their willingness to go above and beyond their normal duties in their current position. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent customer service and teaming skills and a minimum of 4+ years experience providing support in a desktop/helpdesk environment. Applicant must have a minimum of 1 year recent experience in performing direct supervisory/team lead activities and must have knowledge of the customer’s working environment including policies, procedures and the trouble ticket system. Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain an active DOE security clearance.
Physical Requirements: Candidate must be able to carry and lift up to 40 lbs. Candidate must be able to maneuver in tight spaces to repair and run cables, etc. Candidate will be required to walk distances between customer buildings on the base. It is possible this may require up to 1-2 miles each day.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school education or equivalent and 2+ years of technical training and 4+ years of experience with voice and data telecommunications.
