Responsible for assisting the Adventure Coordinator with summer Teen Adventure Camp activities including, but not limited to, trip preparation, and clean-up, overnight camping, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, rappeling, and backpacking.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience in Recreation, preferred experience in Ourtdoor Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation. Previous experience working with youth and youth with special needs (at-risk), a knowledge of experiential education, facilitation and processing techniques, recreation programming experience, challenge course, and outdoor adventure skills (rock climbing, paddling, backpacking, etc.) OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must be at least 16 years of age at time of hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Position requires an in-depth knowledge of outdoor adventure programming. Must possess oral and written communications skills, work well with teens; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with organization, employees and the general public.

- Reading: Reads camp policies, camp forms.
- Writing: Writes letters, reports, and instructions.
- Math: Performs basic mathematical calculations; budget management skills.
- Advanced Theoretical Knowledge: Knowledge of outdoor recreation, medical first-aid procedures, and recreation risk management principles.

Certification(s)/Licenses Required:

Current certification in CPR and First Aid. Valid Texas Drivers License.
