Hiring Salary Range:
Staff Analyst I $4,192.33 to $5,345.21/monthly
Staff Analyst II $4,611.58 to $5,879.75/monthly

Denver Water’s Engineering Division is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of either Staff Analyst I or Staff Analyst II, depending on qualifications and experience within the Property Management Section. Under supervision the qualified candidate will perform professional, administrative and management duties related to the Property Management duties. This person will perform a variety of tasks involving acquisition, and disposal of property rights, negotiating legal property documents, reviewing engineering plans and administering residential and commercial leases. This person must also be familiar with construction practices and contracts, land planning, general survey practices and Denver Water’s organization and general policies.
The qualified candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
STAFF ANALYST I: Qualifications for appointment:
Considerable knowledge of property rights.
Considerable knowledge of real estate and construction contract documents
Ability to create and interpret legal property documents
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, maps, and legal descriptions
Considerable knowledge of basic mathematics and statistics.
Knowledge of Departmental functions and operations.
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations specific to functional area.
Ability to analyze data and assist in formulation of solutions to problems.
Ability to assist in preparation and presentation of research and reports.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, the public and other private and public sector organizations.
Experience with Lease management is preferred
The qualified candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Study and analyze Property Management functions, practices and policies; prepare property legal documents. (Staff Analyst II – Assists in implementing procedural or policy changes, and in explaining their justification.)
Assists in the administration of various Real Estate programs such as Leases, Water System Development layout and review (Staff Analyst II – interpreting and modifying programs and guidelines) and serve as liaison between sections, providing training, guidance and direction.
Maintains and/or analyzes budgets, work plans and schedules; reviews expenditures; assembles data for budget preparation, and coordinates the production of monthly reports including rate of return lease reports.
Performs duties requested by supervision to obtain working knowledge of that area.
(Staff Analyst II) Manages and supervises assigned activities with responsibilities for ongoing operations, personnel and materials.
Education Requirements: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in business or public administration, law, or related field, depending on the requirement for specialized knowledge.
Experience Requirements: Two years’ experience in professional, administrative or management activities, depending on the requirement for specialized experience.
OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
License, Certificate or Credential: Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘R’ Colorado driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record of no more than six points within the last three years, on date of appointment.
STAFF ANALYST II: Qualifications for appointment:
All above in Staff Analyst I and,
Considerable experience creating and interpreting legal property documents
Ability to prepare and present research and reports
Ability to organize, coordinate and supervise the work of others.
Considerable Lease management experience
Education Requirements: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in business or public administration, law, or related field, depending on the requirement for specialized knowledge.
Experience Requirements: Three years’ progressively responsible experience in professional, administrative or management activities, depending on the requirement for specialized experience.
OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
License, Certificate or Credential: Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘R’ Colorado driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record of no more than six points within the last three years, on date of appointment.
