Required Qualifications:

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator pursues, develops, and coordinates credit based CTE programs. The CTE Coordinator is responsible for recruitment and business development activities for CTE programs. The CTE Coordinator recruits, supervises, and advises students for the Teacher Education Series CTE Certificate, CTE Licensure, and BA/BS degree completion programs. Additionally, the CTE Coordinator collaborates with the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) by attending meetings, ensuring alignment with MDE credentialing requirements, obtaining funding, and providing MDE with required reports. This position is responsible for attracting, building, and maintaining long-term relationships with existing and new clients, staff, faculty, and University of Minnesota stakeholders. Additionally, this position will be responsible for reporting and tracking CTE program activity. This position is funded through annual grants and reports to CEHD's Senior Director of Research, Innovation, and Outreach.

Student Recruitment, Supervision, and Advising for students seeking vocational licensure (40%)
-Recruit students for CEHD's CTE programs.
-Register students and serve as an advisor to students.
-Meet with prospective CTE licensure students to answer questions about the teacher education series and degrees.
-Review student applications, make recommendations for admission.
-Review student program plans, approve and maintain files for each admitted student.
-Maintain a web-based and hard copy set of materials to recruit students for programs.
-Review credentials of licensure applicants for 8 secondary CTE licensure fields.
-Supervise employment internships in business and industry focused on developing technical or occupational competencies.
-Supervise students enrolled in off-campus specialized technical college courses.

Program Development for Career and Technical Education (CTE) Courses (50%)
-Conduct yearly needs assessment for off-campus career and technical education teacher preparation courses throughout Minnesota.
-Create and manage recruitment efforts and business development activities to effectively launch CTE programs.
-Continuously assess field-based programming to ensure market alignment and program efficacy.
-Review CTE program content for relevancy to current needs of CTE educators and institutions and recommend revisions.
-Schedule courses as identified from the needs assessment.
-Review curriculum.
-Arrange off campus locations and settings for courses to take place.
-Arrange for staffing of courses from an approved pool of instructors.
-Recruit candidates for instructor positions and recommend to Department Chair.
-Lead and collaborate in the development of marketing and business development materials for CTE programs.
-Attend Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) meetings regarding career and technical education.
-Work with representative of MDE regarding funding of programs.
-Serve as liaison to agencies, institutions and faculty.
-Design professional development programs for CTE licensure applicants to fulfill MDE credentialing requirements.
-Monitor and report on progress of licensure applicants regarding professional development programs.

Administrative and Professional (10%)

-Monitor and report on course enrollments.
-Provide information and support to instructors regarding student issues or questions of University policy.
-Prepare annual enrollment activity reports for MDE.
-Maintain and revise policies and procedures as necessary.
-Maintain enrollment statistics.
-Provide frequent updates and quarterly reports to the RIO Senior Director to ensure programming alignment with RIO and the CEHD strategic goals.

Program/Unit Description
This position is in the office of Research, Innovation, and Outreach (RIO) in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). The goals of RIO are to support the college through the creation of an effective resource to help develop, manage, and deliver outreach-based continuing education and professional development programs and to provide a CEHD Center administrative infrastructure to support the research activities of college-wide centers.
