This is highly responsible, supportive, and consultative work in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of computer software systems. According to established policies and procedures, formulates or oversees the creation of logical statements of complex clinical and technical problems for Clinical and Administrative hospital departments (i.e., laboratory systems, clinical research) and devises procedures for solving same through the use of electronic data processing and programming systems. Works user departments to identify project parameters and output requirements. Quality of work must be exceptionally high as errors could have a negative impact on patient safety, revenue or clinical decision-making. Work is complex an analytical in nature, is performed independently and is reviewed by the manger through discussion and observation of results achieved.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Knowledge of principles, skills and techniques utilized in clinical setting to accomplish departmental objectives through computer applications normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree program in a health care related field or equivalent related experience.

Demonstration of exceptional ability to research, analyze and thoroughly understand workflows of endusers, using this knowledge to configure systems which improve processes, add efficiencies and promote patient safety.

Identifies strategies to increase personal efficiencies in approach to daily workload.

Self-directed in identifying changing demands and priorities. Acts as a change agent in adjusting to new procedures and technology.

Dedication to detail with proven organizational skills

Superior knowledge of computer systems and methods utilized for data input to translate workflow information into computer system specifications.

Leadership in communicating positively with endusers, other analysts, management and customers; ability to effectively facilitate group discussion.

Mastery of program development tools such as editors and configuration tools.
