This position is responsible for developing and leading sourcing strategies, practices and processes in support of North American commercial production. This position will be a key member of an interdependent global sourcing and procurement team located in multiple geographies and will be responsible for driving strategic sourcing and other initiatives for all Third Party manufacturing sites in North America.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and support local, regional and global initiatives to reduce cost, and insure continuity of high quality, compliant supply via purchasing technical services, launch preparation activities. alternate sourcing, price & contract negotiations and operational excellence in the region.
Support all Global Strategic Sourcing aspects of Regional Business Requirements through participation in Regional Leadership Teams, as defined by Regional leadership including but not limited to Business Contract Review and Approval (BCRA), Launch Strategy Team (LST), Supply Network Committee (SNC) and S&OP.
Retain, recruit, develop, teach and empower a high performing talented team and provide site level oversight of budgets and alignment with site general management within North America.
Develop metrics, including external benchmarks, to monitor performance and allow for data driven decision making.
Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the sourcing process by leveraging internal and external tools.
Keep current on best-in-class sourcing management processes and techniques. Develop and implement world-class supply chain processes and procedures.
Partner with key stakeholders, business unit management and alliance management to manage supplier relationships and deliver the highest value possible from all FDF suppliers.
Support supplier audits and all Mylan quality initiatives occurring with suppliers located in the region.
Oversee and periodically review site/country inventory levels and payment terms of key expenditures to assure compliance to Finance expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must possess knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, global and generic pharmaceutical competition, pricing, regulatory and legal actions, FDA and GMP rules and regulations. Must have a thorough understanding of the various Purchasing functions and how they must effectively intertwine for efficient operation.
Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the global pharmaceutical industry, marketplace and dosage forms with a core competency in FDF sourcing for commercial products. The candidate must have an expertise in negotiations, purchasing programs and processes, make Vs buy analysis, sourcing strategies, risk mitigation, and contract development and management. Must possess an understanding of best-in-class sourcing management processes and techniques.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience is required; 7 years of sourcing/purchasing experience in the pharmaceutical industry including procurement and contracting in a multi-site environment and developing value added strategic business relationships with third party producers strongly preferred. Experience within a vertically integrated pharmaceutical company is preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
Fluency in the language of pharmaceutical dosage forms and API dynamics. Ability to read and interpret comprehensive and intricate technical documents. Ability to write definitive and conclusive reports and technical correspondence. Ability to work with executives and communicate abstract concepts and to participate as an active and collaborative member of cross-functional teams. Ability to present to a high level of the organization and groups outside of the organization.
