UNIVERSITYAssociate General CounselThe Office of the Vice President and General Counsel at
Wichita State University is seeking applicants for the
position of Associate General Counsel.Duties: Primary responsibilities will involve providing
advice involving legal matters arising from the operations
of WSU including advising administrators, faculty, staff,
students and others on federal and state laws and
regulations, as well as Board of Regents and University
policies and procedures applicable to the operations of the
University.Required Qualifications: Juris Doctorate from an
accredited American law school and a minimum of ten
years experience as an attorney; licensed to practice law in
Kansas; ability to use common word processing computer
applications; experience handling faculty/employee
grievances; demonstrated legal and ethical stature,
maturity, competence and confidence to operate with
credibility at the executive level and the capacity to deliver
legal advice in a complex environment, involving an array
of distinct constituencies; and evidence of strong written
and oral communication skills.Preferred Qualifications: Five or more years experience
as an attorney practicing higher education law, representing
institutions of higher education or higher education
governing boards. Additional knowledge and experience in
litigation, labor and employment law, student disciplinary
cases, faculty and tenure issues, equal employment
opportunity issues, research grants and contracts,
intellectual property law, tax law, bankruptcy, construction
