Reporting to the Director of Operational Accounting, the Manager, Accounting Services role is to direct and manage the accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R) and fixed asset accounting functions, insuring completeness and accuracy of reporting.
The Manager, Accounting Services is expected to demonstrate management and leadership expertise including: relationship management, communication, staff direction and motivation, financial planning and control, quality management, risk management, and the achievement of targets.
BS/BA degree in business, finance or accounting.
6 – 8 years of experience in corporate accounting of a public company.
Demonstrates the capacity to manage changing priorities and ambiguity while remaining calm and controlled.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, auditing, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP) with internal control systems.
Understanding of business processes focusing on corporate finance, accounting principles and management .
Compelling and persuasive when engaged with individuals or teams inside and outside of the company.
Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills .
Demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and have strong organizational skills.
Ability to build relationships and work well across functions.
Superior problem solving ability.
Exceptional analytical, statistical, quantitative, and deduction skills.
MBA or CPA.
Prior experience in mining, heavy manufacturing and/or industrial work environments.
