The HR Generalist assists in the management of the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment. Promotes the hospital's mission and vision by assisting in the creation of an environment of teamwork and excellence in meeting the healthcare needs of the community. Reports to the Director of Human Resources.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an accredited school Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or Liberal Arts. Experience and Qualifications: 2 years prior experience as a Human Resources Generalist in a hospital/surgery center setting preferred. Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills Demonstrate emotional maturity and ability to function effectively when under stress Organizational and prioritizing skills are essential. Licenses/Certificates: Current certification in Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred (SHRM Certification). Must complete/maintain required annual competencies per hospital policy.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits. 2. Performs routine recruiting functions, such as posting jobs internally and externally; and screening job applicants. 3. Orients new employees to policies, procedures and employee benefits. 4. Assists with annual compliance reporting and employee evaluations. 5. Maintains open communication with the Director of Human Resources to ensure department continuity and credibility. 6. Assists the Director of Human Resources with continuous improvement of the HR team. 7. Assists in the development and facilitation of training on various topics for hospital employees. 8. Performs other duties of a similar or related level and assists with special projects as necessary or assigned by the Director of Human Resources including various administrative tasks.
